The Construction Engineering curriculum provides a hybrid education consisting of a strong civil engineering foundation coupled with experiential learning in architecture and construction practices. This comprehensive approach includes initial design though the completion of the exterior building facade. The following is a suggested four-year schedule for the BS in Construction Engineering. Taking these courses in the years shown will ensure that you have the prerequisites for the following year’s courses.

Freshman Year: Fall Semester

* All Construction Engineering students must take 1 Fine Arts (FF), 1 Social & Behavioral Science (BF), and 2 Humanities (HF) courses to fulfill the General Education requirements. The University of Utah also requires all students to complete a Diversity (DV) course and an International Requirement (IR). These 2 courses can be combined with General Education Requirements e.g. MUSC 3600 (IRFF), therefore satisfying 2 requirements with only one course.
